Teddy P

As a recording artist known for using the saxophone with electronic effects, Teddy P is featured on multiple studio albums as a leader, sideman, and collaborator. Releases as a leader include Retrogression, Where the Cats Are, and Ted EP which feature original modern jazz compositions and improvisations.

Josiah Boornazian

Josiah Boornazian is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, educator, electronic musician, and scholar of music. As a performing and recording artist, Dr. Boornazian has been cultivating an innovative, technology-based jazz performance practice for several years, which began with his adoption of digital effects pedals for live performances.

Sean Wilson

Sean Wilson is a trumpet player currently studying jazz performance at the University of Utah. During his time at the University, Sean has been featured as a soloist in the University’s Jazz Ensemble, and is a member of the University’s flagship jazz combo, the Michie Scholarship Quintet.

Ester Judd

Ester Judd is a vocalist and composer currently studying composition at the University of Utah.

Derek Coombs

Derek Coombs is a pianist currently studying jazz performance at the University of Utah. During his time at the University, Derek has been featured as a soloist in the University’s Jazz Ensemble, and is a member of the University’s flagship jazz combo, the Michie Scholarship Quintet.

Ethan Summerhays

Ethan Summerhays is a Drummer currently studying jazz performance at the University of Utah. During his time at the University, Ethan has been featured as a soloist in the University’s Jazz Ensemble, and is a member of the University’s flagship jazz combo, the Michie Scholarship Quintet.

Sorn Torkelson

Sorn Torkelson is a classical guitarist, trombonist and vocalist who is currently studying classical guitar at the University of Utah, where he was awarded scholarships for guitar, trombone, and academics. During his time at the University, Sorn has been featured as a soloist in the University’s Early Music Ensemble, Jazz Repertory Ensemble, and on the 2023 School of Music Student Showcase. Sorn is known for his energetic, passionate performances, and for his broad range of repertoire. He has played works that date back to the 1300s, and new works which were written within the last decade.
